Auburn High five-star linebacker prospect Rashaan Evans received a visit from a couple of UCLA coaches at school Tuesday afternoon, including head coach Jim Mora.
Mora flew into Auburn earlier Tuesday and arrived at Auburn High with UCLA assistant head coach Jeff Ulbrich around 3 p.m. before meeting with Evans inside the fieldhouse for about an hour.
UCLA is one of three schools Evans, the ASWA Class 6A Lineman of the Year and one of the most coveted recruits in the nation, is considering signing with in two weeks. His other two finalists are Auburn and Alabama.
Evans took an official visit to UCLA on Sept. 27. He visited Alabama last weekend, and will take an official visit to Auburn this weekend.
As a senior for Auburn High, Evans racked up 54 total tackles, including 17 sacks and 12 additional stops behind the line of scrimmage, 20 hurries, five pass deflections and three forced fumbles. He also played receiver for the Tigers and was used as the team’s goal-line quarterback in the Wildcat formation.
Along with earning 6A Lineman of the Year honors, Evans was named to the ASWA Super 12, 6A first-team All-State defensive team and was an Under Armour All-American. He was selected as the Opelika-Auburn News Defensive Player of the Year and also made the Opelika-Auburn News Large Schools All-Area first-team defense.
