This recruit is becoming a tough one to call. In spite of the pay sites saying he is UCLA bound, we think this will go down to the wire.

College Football Recruiting: Who gets Malachi Dupre?
Written by Tim Morris

In today’s pass-happy, spread offense filled state of college football, a quarterback needs receivers. Ideally, a tall, fast receiver with good hands and great leaping ability for those red zone visits. Every team in the country has that type of receiver on their recruiting wish list. It’s a must have in the world of college football, and Malachi Dupre from John Curtis Christian High School in River Ridge, La., fits that description. Dupre is a 6 foot 3 wide receiver, who is the number 17 player in the ESPN 300 and is also one of the few uncommitted prospects left.
Dupre has already announced that he will make his college decision on national signing day on February 5, but the speculation on where he will end up is still large. He has LSU, Alabama, Florida State and UCLA as his top four schools at this point in his recruitment. Dupre has also scheduled visits to each school in these last three weeks before signing day. The want for Dupre is rather easy to see when you look at his summer camp tape, but what is interesting is that Dupre plays in a run-first offense at John Curtis Christian High School. That means a couple of things about Dupre, he is far from reaching his potential as a receiver, but that also means he is still raw as an overall receiver. That does not mean he will not make an immediate impact wherever he goes and it would not surprise me if he were on the field from day one. Dupre could fit in right away at any of the four schools he is interested in.
LSU needs Dupre with losses of receivers Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry, who both topped 1,000 yards receiving in 2013. Most recruiting websites are predicting that Dupre will go to LSU given that it’s his home state school, but I am not so sure. Alabama is a good fit as well for Dupre, but he may have to sit behind already established receivers like Amari Cooper and DeAndrew White. Alabama also has to figure out who their starting quarterback will be with the graduation of AJ McCarron, which could be a problem for all the receivers.
Florida State seems, to me at least, to be the best fit for Dupre. He would have a Heisman trophy winning quarterback throwing him the ball and with Kelvin Benjamin leaving early, Dupre could see the field day one of summer camp. UCLA would also be a good fit for Dupre. Quarterback Brett Hundley will be another year better after deciding to stay in school and top receiver Shaquelle Evans is graduating.
Dupre is also has a background in track and field and the option of playing two sports could play a factor in his decision. Dupre will be a much-needed addition to any college program when receivers like him are at a premium.
